Friday, nine forty-five, A pleasant surprise,
The North Hills 5-Guys, Fresh cut French fries!
Two am Boone arrival, We all looked like Fievel.
Tartan-skirted Marathoners running,
Drums and bagpipes gunning,
Boulder hopping, Never stopping!
Jess and Rach sun-bath rapture,
Wallace and Bryant crawdad capture,
David preps a spicy sausage pasture.
Down river coasting,
Lovely Lycan sister hosting,
Back porch red wine toasting.
Then every guy grabs a girl,
For an apple barn contra twirl,
Fire pit marshmallow roasting,
The geologist’s homestead boasting.
The Netherlands in orange versus Spain wearing blue,
Gathered together for the World Cup final and brew.
Spain won, Jess cried boo-hoo!
P&P and YP on the Frank,
Jonathan and Wallace pull a prank.
By midnight safely home in the wheezing tank,
For a cherished good time, we give thanks.
