Snowed in Soup
-Heat chicken stock  (along with 2 bay leaves, salt, pepper, cumin, rosemary)
-Separately, prepare about a half cup (dry) Basmati rice.
-Chop up smoked ham  (keep attached fat)
-Heat black beans in a saucepan (I used Trader Joe’s Cuban Style)
-Toast day-old country wheat bread brushed with olive oil
-Add moderate amount heavy cream to stock
-Add 2-3 cloves sauteed garlic
-Add grated medium cheddar cheese
-Add freshly grated parmesan cheese (less parm than cheddar)
-Add small amount flour
-Add cooked rice, smoked ham, black beans to stock–bring to simmer
-Crack medium eggs (one for each person) into the soup and allow whites to set (~3 minutes)
-Add more salt and pepper to taste, if necessary
-Remove bay leaves
-Add broken bits of toasted country bread to soup
-Serve with Bock beer
