What the day called for

Image

I had the most wonderful day with my friend Deanne (recently moved here from South Africa) and my mother. We started with a little window shopping downtown, followed by lunch at the Early Girl Eatery and a big cup of maple sea salt drinking chocolate from the French Broad Chocolate Lounge. I needed some female company today. Their sweet dispositions and easy, kind ways of talking and moving helped me shake of little pieces of fear and worry I’d been walking around with for weeks. After our delicious eating and drinking, we went home and sat by the fire where they spent time sharing happy stories and praying for me.

I’m reminded today of how fortunate I am to have so many wonderful, encouraging people in my life. Surround yourself with joyful people and you will be joyful.
